This time of year can be so difficult to avoid the pull of depression. Long hours of darkness, storms and the isolation caused by bad weather and a lack of money can sometimes make it almost alluring to go there. The trick is to acknowledge the call, talk to someone, tell them how you’re feeling and accept their support.
This poem, ‘seduction’, was written during one of these times.
dark is calling
black and silent
safe from the fear of hope
dark is calling
black and silent
safe from the fear of joy
dark is calling
black and silent
safe from the fear of success
dark is calling
black and silent
safe from the fear of me
dark is calling
Black
and Silent
Very powerful

hi Katie, I wonder if anyone else is having difficulty sending comments.
It only come up for me when I click on the arrow in the picture and go back again. Anyhow I wanted to say how much I am enjoying reading your poems and look forward to next Sundays addition. Many thanks I think you speak to all of us from time to time. Doreena
